Sonist Agency (“Sonist”, “we”, “us”) is a music marketing company based in Los Angeles, California. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It covers sonistagency.com and the services we provide through it.

What we collect

When you browse the site

• Standard server and analytics data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and approximate location derived from IP.
• Cookies and similar technologies set by our analytics and tag management tools.

When you contact us or apply

• Name, email address, and anything you choose to write in a contact or Partner Program application form, including artist or company name, links to your music and social profiles, and your budget range.

When you place an order

• Name, email address, phone number and billing address.
• Order details and history.
• Payment information, which is collected and processed directly by our payment processor. We receive a confirmation, the card brand and the last four digits. We never receive or store your full card number or security code.

Campaign materials you send us

• Audio files, artwork, video files, lyrics, release dates, ISRC codes and streaming or video links.
• Reference artists and any notes you give us about the release.
• If you grant it, read-only access to your Spotify for Artists profile so we can see saves, followers and listener data while a campaign runs. We do not post, edit or change anything in your account.

How we use it

• To review your song, build your campaign, run it, and report on it.
• To take payment and issue receipts and refunds.
• To answer your questions and send campaign updates.
• To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
• To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We rely on the performance of our contract with you for order and campaign data, your consent for optional analytics cookies and marketing emails, and our legitimate interest in running and securing the business for the rest.

Advertising platforms

Campaigns purchased on this site run through advertising accounts, pixels, landing pages and social profiles that belong to Sonist. Your song, artwork and the creatives we make are uploaded to those platforms, which include Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google (YouTube). Those platforms process data under their own privacy policies. If you are a Partner Program client and we operate inside your own advertising accounts, we access them only with your permission and only for the work you have asked us to do.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, plus site statistics provided by our hosting and plugin tools, to measure traffic and understand which pages are useful. These set cookies in your browser. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, but some things may be less convenient. Our shop uses functional cookies to remember your cart and keep you logged in, and those cannot be switched off without breaking checkout.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do use service providers who process data on our behalf:

• Payment processing: our payment provider and Stripe, to take payment and prevent fraud.
• Hosting and security: our website host, which stores the site and its database.
• Email: Google Workspace, for our email, and our transactional email service for order notifications.
• Analytics: Google, for the analytics described above.
• Advertising: Meta and Google, for the campaigns we run.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or property.

How long we keep it

• Order and billing records: seven years, because tax law requires it.
• Campaign materials and reports: up to three years after a campaign ends, so we can answer questions and plan future releases. Ask us and we will delete them sooner.
• Contact form messages: up to two years.
• Analytics data: as configured in the analytics tools, generally no more than 14 months.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can email info@sonistagency.com to ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in California

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, you have the right to know what we collect and why, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.

If you are in the EU or the UK

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing, and the right to data portability. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Where we transfer data to the United States, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by our service providers.

Security

The site runs over HTTPS, access to our systems is limited to people who need it, and payment details never touch our servers. No system is perfect, so please do not send us anything more sensitive than the campaign materials we ask for.

Children

Our services are for adults and for artists old enough to hold a distribution agreement. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant we will say so on the site or by email.
